    Headrest Camera Mount

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Decided to make a headrest mount for my HD cam for the upcoming autox at Waterfest. All it took was a trip to my local camera shop and Home Depot and an hour or two. Let me know what you guys think.

I didn't really plan on selling this, but if anyone's interested shoot me a PM.

    Re: Headrest Camera Mount

thats dope, is it possible to get some pictures and even a list of items you bought so some of us who feel handy can make our own.

Looks basic but what type of stock did you use and is it metal to metal? Or is there a padding?

    Thanks

    Parts list coming shortly.

I used some aluminum stock from Home Depot, it was about $14 and gives you enough to make 2. For now I couldn't get any other padding except wrapping the posts in electrical tape, which seems to work.

And a picture off of the headrest would be nice too, just wanna see if you cut notches and such

How about some rubber tubing? Just slid it over the posts.

    Re: Headrest Camera Mount

Would some sort of dense foam-like material aid in the security of the mounting? You could glue a strip to each inside face of the aluminum, and when you tighten those wing nuts, it would sorta mold around the two headrest posts. Might look a little more professional than electrical tape, but I'm down with whatever works!

    Re: Headrest Camera Mount

Looks almost exactly like the old SpeedMount camera mount that was sold by RennTechnik in the B5 days...

I have one and love it. It's simple, straightforward, and it works really well. Guess it's hard to improve on a good design.

    Re: Headrest Camera Mount

    hello there...
Any ideas on what can I do to find a nice mount myself, so as get some nice videos in the forthcoming track days...?

The only problem with me is that I dont have the OEM seats....

    Any thoughts are most welcome...
