    Painting brake calipers and s4 decals

    So I just got some black zinc slotted/dimpled rotors from Adam and they look great. I'm going with stainless lines and hawk pads as well while i'm doing all this and just picked up some black caliper paint from pep boys. I also got their brake parts cleaner spay. I also got the 320 grit sand paper. I've never done this before so I'm asuming I need to take the calipers off right? then I just sand, degrease and then spray the paint on right? I did a quick search and didn't find much into on AW. Also what size decals should I look for on ebay to put on? thanks!

    I just did mine last week. You don't need the sand paper, all you need is a nice brass bristled brush and the cleaner. What I did was sprayed the cleaner then went with the brush and scrub it a couple of times to make sure I got it good and clean. Then I just shot the hell out of it with the cleaner again to get all the dust off. Then I got a micro fiber towel wet it then wiped the whole caliper down. Oh and you don't have to take it off the car. Just cover all the parts you don't want painted with newspaper then go with the painters masking tape and cover those small pieces so you don't get paint on them. Oh and don't use the brush in the box go out and buy a couple of nice cheap camel hair brushes and use that instead. Oh and I let it dry 24 hours before I took the tape off and drove the car. Came out cherry. I'll try and snap some pics for you to see. Good luck man

    I just did mine with G2 Epoxy Paint Kit, here's my thread for pics and details:

    If your going the spray can method you really need to mask everything off to avoid overspray. Best to use a garage if available to shelter you from the elements, plus you can just leave it there when your done to let it dry out.

    Just did mine on sunday as well...Really simple. I did not take my calipers off, but if your going to get new pads why dont you just paint them before you throw them on....? I just followed the instructions from the paint kit I bought.

    1. Take wheels off and tape anything you dont want painted
    2. Spray cleaner and toothbrush
    3. sand
    4. wipe all the shit off from sanding
    5. a few coats of paint
    6. easy as that

    Is it possible to buy stoptech decals?

    I have 355 bbk and its grey and i really wanna put it red but i have the stoptech logo on there and thats why i can do it.

    stoptech will send you decals but they only have white..

    my calipers had alot of dimples in them and where much more evident after I painted them. Not smooth looking at all...so thinking about redoing them? Would sanding take care of this issue?

    Use the stuff that you brush on, Do a couple light coats followed by a couple thick ones, It smoothes the dimples right out, I used the Duplicolour one, worked great!

    I messaged him and he replied right away and said they were in the mail already. i'll just wait to get them and if not their only $10. I cand find them on ebay anymore though
