    Money Back From Dealership???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi guys, about a month ago I decided to upgrade from my Lexus IS300 to a 2008 DG B7 A4. I was wondering if any of you had traded in your cars and got more money than you owed and how long you had to wait for the left over money to come back to you from the dealer. The dealer gave me $8000 for the car and I only owed $3600. So I should be receiving a check back from them for approximately $4400 but I don't know how long I needed to wait before putting in a phone call.

    Thanks guys for your help...

are you sure the extra money didn't go toward your new car?

Are you financing or did you pay cash for the new one?

It does sound like they put it into the payments.

If you request money back they should give it to you before you leave the dealership. Also, my car is leased at invoice price $3000 down $510 a month for 36 months, so with such a low payment you have, it definitely sounds like they put it in the payments.

My suggestion would be read the contract.

Just went over the contract, and it says that I put zero money down and that the pay off on the trade in was $3600 with them giving me $8000 for the used car. I have tried calling Audi, but every time i call it seems that the financial adviser is always out of office.

Yes, the contract says you put $0 cash down. Which is true. The extra $4400 defiantly went towards the new car. The trade in shows correctly on the contract as a trade in.

ok, thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. However, just for future reference about how long would you wait if you were to get money back from them for a trade in?

You should get it that day. You have to pay for your new car before you drive it home. They should do the same when purchasing car.
