If i install a snub mount and engine mounts?

For my next mod, i want to install the 034 snub mount with the snub bracket and also the street density engine mounts. Now i want to know what can i expect from this upgrade. Will this cause a lot of vibration? This is for a dd car. will i have smother shifts? Will the acceleration be a bit better/quicker? Or are there other benefits i should expect. btw my car has 142k miles on it thx

Yes, you will have more vibration... The ammount will depend on condition and balance of your engine...

You will notice better, smoother shifts... Acceleration will not improve but it will feel like it since there is less slop in the drivetrain... More like the response is improved... Also, if you have enough power to do this, you will get less wheel hop... I have had some massive wheel hop when doing a quattro burnout... Stiffer mounts helped that go away...

i did the street density mounts on my 2.8 (snub, motor, and tranny) and it felt better shifting, but i have absolutely no vibrations like others talk about. i am happy with them. if i were to do it again, id probably get the track mounts. lots of vibration

I have the snub mount and it made a HUGE difference over the stock one, a little more vibrations but nothing unbearable.
I do work around the South East on your 1.8t or 2.7t, PM for more info

Yes, great, nope, hardly noticeable and not really....

I have had the mounts installed now for ~10K. Under 1000rpm stuff rattles, deal with it. It's not a big issue, and the couple things that rattle can be fixed with a min. or two of your time. However, if you're like me and are a lil bitch when it's over 80* and turn your A/C on, you will notice a LOT of vibration. Deal with it, or raise your rpm to 1000rpm.

My car is a DD car, and like I said I have had them now for 10K miles or so. I have all 5 mounts: Snub, Engine and both trans. I bought them as a set through Issam when they were released

Smoother shifts? Not really. The thing I noticed more (during AutoX) is that the drivetrain seemed a lot tighter. Go drive a Kia Sephia, then a WRX. Not as drastic, but the same idea. If you want your shifts to smoother/more accurate pick up JHM's solid shifter linkage.

Acceleration shouldn't change really. Unless your factory mounts are Fubar. You will notice responsiveness picks up and you'll get a much better feel for what your engine is doing.

Other benefits.... you can sell tickets to ride your hood. I've been told the ride feels better than the washing machine

Re: If i install a snub mount and engine mounts?

I have 034 street density tranny and motor mounts installed, and the snub waiting to be installed. The mounts made a nice differance, not huge, but better to drive.

The vibration i definitely noticeable at idle, not a big deal. however, when i turn my a/c it's vibrates where it is annoying. apparently not everyone has this issue.. so it leaves me thinking i either fucked up the install, i was sent track density or the mounts help make me aware of another problem..
