S4 in the works, maybe

Since you guys have had more time with the S4's I'll ask.

I am looking at a few 2000 and 2001 S4's and one has 110K + on it. It appears to be lightly modded (if at all) and in good shape. If the turbos are original are they on borrowed time?

Help a brother out and let me know what I should ask or should I just run?????????

what are they asking for it? Has the TB been done? Do you hear a whing/ siren noise from the turbos? what mods are done to it?

You really just never know.

It's hit or miss. Plenty of people have gone well past 110K miles and been completely fine.

Some blow their turbo's at 50k miles.

It's all in how the car was taken care of.

As Silver noted above, was the timing belt job done? Try to find out the service history and the mod list.

And then tell us the price :)

^^^^^x10 - you must learn as much about service history as possible - get VIN and call local Audi dealer to have them run thru their computer to determine what dealer servicing was done....but in the end, it is always a crapshoot.
