    Need help, again

    So I'm starting to get the "I'm starting to regret buying this car blues" with another issue. At low speeds the left front makes a clicking sound, like something is knocking against the dust shield on the brakes. It stays till I get above 25 mph and then it seems to go away or when I put a load on the left front by weaving the car. I have been getting it pulling out of the drive way and parking spots the last couple of days. As the speeds go up it goes away and there are no vibes in the steering wheel at all. The brakes need to get replaced and parts go on order tonight. Could it part of that, maybe a bearing. Any help would be appreciated. I'm getting the car looked at next Thursday, but till then I want to make sure it's ok.

    Great, is there any way to tell if it's the inner or outer? The sad part is that they guy that owned that car before me just that the CV boots done.

    Is there grease in the wheel. When a CV bust you should find grease in the wheel.

    No grease in the wheel, but there is some on the inside CV boot. I talked to the guys that just did the boot work and they said they " serviced" the CV joint and put the new boot on. It only does it at low speeds when I turn otherwise it's not there. I'm guessing it'll need a new inner CV boot unless someone knows of another option. The boots are less than two months old and look in good shape.

    The clicking isn't from the boot being torn, it's from there not being any grease in the joint and the joint is "dry" and not well-lubricated. Try taking the half shaft out, taking off the inner boot clamp, push the boot back a bit, pack the joint with CV grease, and re-clamp the boot.

    turn your wheel all the way to the left and right and do many circle, fast, but no doughnut. this way you will push the grease into the joint.
