I have no info on turbo changes, as I'm still running stock K03. Would sure love to hear what the k04 would do, as that is on my wish list. Again, got to keep it conservative.
yeah i just recently got mine so i'm running stock everything right now. But i know what you mean about keeping it conservative. Gas right now where i live is average about 4.40/gallon for regular unleaded, some places more and some places less but unless i want to drive for 10 minutes for every fill up i can't really get all that much better without a costco card
.
I am currently a full time student and a full time worker also. So between school and work i probably drive from home to school and back to home again (about 12 miles). To work (about 4 miles) and from work to my girlfriend's house (about 5 miles). Then back home (another 6 or 7 miles). And if not to my girlfriends house i go back the 4 miles to home. So at bare minimum i'm driving about 25 miles a day. That's partially one reason i upgraded to this audi, along with the added bonus of the quattro
, because i also have a VW passat GLX VR6 5 speed which around town, bone stock, i average about 19.6 mpg with normal non-aggressive driving. And ALL of my driving is around town, i barely ever see the freeway unless it's for snowboarding which i don't use my VR6 for. For that i borrow my parent's Tahoe LT, a measly 12 mpg
. But now i'll be using my USP for that, making good use of the quattro.
But for a while with my VR6 i was driving so much i was filling up my 18.5 gallon tank once every 5 or 6 days, and it's been starting to get ridiculous with gas prices, having to at minimum use 89 octane gas. I dropped from 91 to atleast utilize some sort of money saving technique's.
Needless to say, i'm loving the turbo, and i'm loving the better mileage even with that turbo. And i know i'm gonna be loving it even more once snow season officially opens and i get my season pass in the mail! But i also want to atleast upgrade to a k04 at some point, so i'm curious about the stats on that. But for now i think i might just stick with intake, exhaust, and chipping mods. Try to go for the best mileage improvements first.
