If you do your car can act like it is possessed.

Disconnect the battery and let it air dry. Cross your fingers nothing got fried (assuming you didn't turn the key on with the fuse box & ecu wet).

this might be a good way to help save your ECU.

    http://www.popularmechanics.com/tech...o/4269047.html

you might also want to use an air compresser on a medium pressure setting if you can, and spray out the water to prevend corrosion.

That reminds me of the time when my youngest brother was still a kid, he goes up to me and said:"You know, it is really not a good idea to stick a hairpin in an electrical socket..." as smoke steams up his hair! LOL

Re: PSA: Do not wash your car with the ECU cover off

Well the ECU was extracted and the cover was left off.

I saw the car sitting in the driveway so I decided to wash the brake dust off the wheels... then decided to give her a scrubdown at the same time.

Only when the radiator fan, started going on and off did I clue in to what I did. Opened the hood and saw a nice pool of water shorting out the relays.

Disconnected the battery and then spent the next hour or so with towels and a hair dryer cleaning things up.

If it is messed up you can find used ecu's for $200. I might still have the link to the ecu classifieds...

    OK... now I'm paranoid.

Can anyone tell me what relay goes where in the two main sockets?

    A simple picture will do.
