    new here...need help

Hi folks - been lurking here for a few days.

My wife had a 2004 3.0 ultrasport. We loved the car....traded it last year.

Now I am looking at the last of the new B7's. Hard to find anything with the sport package. Only thing left is the SE's - but the dealer is willing to trade out the web wheels (I don't care for them) with a non - SE on the lot.

I have found a couple of cars with everything I like, except no sport springs.

What is the real world cost of lowering the B7 similar to the stock sport package? I don't want anything extreme...I just want it to sit tighter - just like the sport package?

Let me know - I'd be grateful.... I am about to pull the trigger....

You should be able to find a set of OEM sport springs in the classifieds. Another option would be to get either Eibach or H&R springs (available from Tirerack for around $200). You might also have to replace your dampers, since lower springs will put more strain on stock ones. Look here: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=105668

I'd say that it should be about a grand. A lot of people listed how much they paid on this thread:

    Current: 2019 B9 A4 Quattro
    Former: 2016 8V A3 Quattro, 2011 Mk6 GTI DSG 4-door, 2005.5 B7 A4 2.0T FWD CVT

    Got it...thanks.

So I figure about $1K to do it aftermarket VS $250 from the factory.

I am not into modding a whole lot in the first two years...so that tells me to find a car with the lowered springs.

    Thanks!

    Stay tuned....
