I bought one off the classifieds earlier this year which is a little thicker. It had the tri color stitching on the inside and required a little modification to fit the horn ring.

I didn't realize buying it that it was thicker but it was a really nice bonus.

haven't sat in a 135i, but i used to own a E46 325ci and that wheel was super skinny, so I changed it to a M3 steering wheel.

Actually the only car i ever owned where i didn't want to change the steering wheel was my old R32.....

Winston ( from podi aka MC Hammered) suggested taking the steering wheel someplace to get it re-wrapped in leather to make it thicker. Just a suggestion.

The sport steering whel is nice, and there are several interchangeable steering wheels from euro versions. Just check out Ebay.co.uk and Ebay.de. Also, the B7, Mk 2 TT, and R8 wheels are nice and beefy and also look much better. You could also get it rewrapped, which would allow you to have whatever color and material you wanted. Might be a chance to get a wheel, shift knob or boot, and ebrake handle matched to spruce up your interior.

i'll have to check out Ebay. I REALLY like the MK2 TT wheel, but currently i'm not willing to spend that much money for a steering wheel.

not exactly sure, but it's a Euro OEM sport wheel of some sort. I'm sure Gaith picked it up off Ebay or Ebay.de. The swap was easy, except I had to cut out a lot of rubber on the inside to get the US horn ring to work.
