size increase

If i wanted to go from a 15inch wheel and tire to a bigger size, would anything further need to be replaced? Say if i wanted to go 17's...?

As long as the tire's overall diameter is the same, car is fine. If anything, you might want to get a more aggressive brake pad for the car if you go to 17" as the wheels would be heavier and OE pads might be a little overwhelmed.
