Need insight on adjusting wastegate actuator

Hello. I need help on adjusting my actuator. It all started with my car having a blown one and my dad decided to change it himself with my grandpa helping him. It seems that they didn't quite put it on right since I can't boost past 11psi. I even got a MBC but that still didn't help.
My question is whether anyone knows how it is supposed to be adjusted. I know that it has a nut on the end of the arm that determines how much the wastegate will open. Are there any measurements/how much threads it is supposed to be set on? Also, will my way of unbolting the exhaust at the cat work to reach the actuator? Thanks

Oh boy, I just got mine replaced with a K04. When you say a blown turbo. Do you mean the seals on the turbo went or did the turbo stop spooling? What kind of turbo did you replace it with?

Couple of things you can check is for boost leaks, spark plugs, check your hose clamps on the charged side. Basically check for any positive pressure related issues as these could leak boost. Giving you such problems.

No, the turbo never blew, still the stock K03 as I continue saving for BT.. The actuator went bad. The car was diagnosed by a very reputable shop (Renn-Art) and no boost leaks were found. I am almost positive that its the actuator that is misaligned and not letting the wg close fully.

Hm.. In that case then check your plugs, and n75 maybe.

But if you must know. Here's a couple of good links.

Lucky our cars are kinda easy to get that. I suggest doing short 1 thread turns to see.

How is your MBC set up?

I'm assuming since you were able to pull your turbo out, you know how to correctly use an MBC?

(figured I'd ask, I've never seen you post, and you're only a 2ring member)

I don't need to post up here since this place has all the info I need. =) I like to help once in a while. I don't use a MBC but basically it should be hooked up parallel to the n75 so that all it does is purge of spiking. I have another link to that as well.

PS: I really think you should really consider checking other stuff out before "cranking" your WG.

I really don't think that it has anything to do with the MBC or the N75 since both give the same boost. Even when I disconnect the vacuum line from the actuator, its still only 11 psi..

HM.. I believe you could be on to something here. I would proceed with the adjustment and see what you get. if you dont see any change. Then I'd suspect your WG is broken or it could be caught on rust and stopping it from closing.

No, definitely not broken. As I stated, it has been changed.. Just might have been put in wrong.
