FINALLY installed my Racetec today! The install wasn't too bad. The A4mods.com DEFINITELY helped out a lot. But I took the car out after I finished the install and didn't really notice much difference.. Is this normal? It does look pretty BA though!

You need to use a vagcom to see what your timing CF is now. If you didn't have any timing pull before putting the FMIC on you will not notice a big difference.

Here is a good tutorial about data logging with VAG-Com:
    http://www.mjbmotorsport.com/datafaq.html

And here is a detailed description of what to look for on a few particular Engine controller groups:
    http://www.mjbmotorsport.com/datalog.html

IATs (intake air temps) are on group 004 (rpm, voltage, cooling temp, IAT) or group 134 (oil temp, ambient temp, IAT and engine outlet temp)

    All temps are in Celsius

    Re: Racetec FMIC

A boost gauge and VAG COM should be required mods.
In any case, you won't really notice much with an intercooler per say. You may even have a drop in boost.
But what it does for IAT and as such, timing, will more than make up for it. That and preventing heat soak.

    Re: Racetec FMIC

To way above (if directed to me), yes GT28RS and Racetech. A few of us have it. No biggy- just some rework of the piping.
To just above, because how else could you know what effect your mods are having? You log data to show what temps are and what correction factors are so you can, at a minimum, prevent problems from occuring, and at best, tweak your car's ECu parameters (with lemmiwinks or unitronics and VAG COM cable) to get the most out of it without blowing it up.
