How to change front rotors?

Are the front rotors on the A6 suppose to come right off or do I have to take the bolt off in the middle? It seems to be on there very tight, just thought I would ask first.

I have a 2000 A6 2.7T the rotors come right off. I am not sure about the 2004, but the bolt I think you are talking about is inside the hub dont take it off. The rotors sometimes are held on the hub with a screw on other cars but I not sure about the Audi except for my 2000 and my old 90 coupe.

Yeah the lexus I had before the rotors were held by two screws but I don't see any on these rotors. Maybe they just need a good beating?

I have a 2003 A6 the only thing holding the rotor is the caliper when you take it off the rotor should come right of.

You might have to hit the rotor a couple of times use a rubber hammer if you plan to use the same rotor if not hit with anything.
