I remember seeing this car at Central Florida Turbo in Orlando last time I was there, I believe it was there during a dyno day we had there.

Guess they got themselves the fastest daily driver out there. Poor B6 would get anialated no matter what it was packing

Killer times for a street car, sucks they have such a week ass power band.

I was just reading the other day of a guy from dynoflash that stepped down from a GT42 to a GT37 and says it's so much more fun to drive, more consistent, and is a lot more reliable.

It will still make mid 700's(giving up over 200whp to the GT42) but be a better vehicle overall...

I don't know too much about the EVO's, but I can imagine the stock stuff can't handle those kind of power levels and some upgrades were done. Withe the amount of work he's done to the car, it'd be hard to imagine him not doing any drivetrain upgrades...

stock evo's drivetrain could handle 700 hp for a while, but most of them rebuild their drivetrain with shepard racing or buschur

Yes, many guys can push that much on the stock diff drive shaft, and a few other parts including transfercase. Depending on how they beat on it really depends on how long it lives.

My mechanic's 91 Eagle Talon does the 1/4 mile in 3 gears... and yup.... he's tuned by CFT! Its the white talon on their website..

Are you watching a different video of him running down the track? Because the video link is filed from inside the car and the camera moves every time he shifts which only happens twice.

I watched it again and both rear and side vids of the car shows 2 shifts with flames coming out of the car while flat shifting, he does not shift anywhere after the 1/8th mile.

But thats not a stock tranny. To even hit 140+ mph on a stock evo tranny they would need to hit 5th gear and I know this because I have friends with EVO's and have friends that own a shop that tunes EVO's. I have also owned a 2G and no way it would ever even come close to 140+ mph in 3rd gear.

My buddy ran him awhile ago. He has a 2.0 stoker awd white sleeper talon. Pretty close from what i remember.

After that 3rd flame shoot out I thought I heard another shift. The inside cam is hard to tell if there was a 1-2 shift immediately or just the violence from the launch. That's all I have to say. Whether its 3 gears or 4 gears its pretty fast. Peace.

Yeah it is pretty fast, but only the 5th fastest evo in the world. The ones that are faster are all running in the 8's.

Odd thing is that someone posted that the yellow evo is the fastest non nitrous running Evo, but yet on dragtimes.com they state that it runs a 75 shot. Also says it is running a TRE built transmission/gears.

Yes fully rebuilt.Believe it ran high 9s at bithlow in the beggining of the year, but motor is blown now, and in rebuilding state do to his and buddy doing all the work themselves.

Its actually short. The stock 4th gear on a Evo8 will only reach 125 mph by 8k rpms. Most of the EVO's built for drag racing change out the stock 4.53:1 final drive to a 3.73 TRE final drive which then takes 4th gear to 151 mph. With that final drive 3rd gear hits 110 at 8k and most of those Evo's are build to hit 10k-11k. So at 10,500 rpms in 3rd gear it will hit 145 mph. So believe me they can go 3 gears down the track if you do your homework.

Well thats with the stock gears. That car is running the TRE gears which is all taller gears but 2nd. So the top speed of 3rd gear is going to be even higher then the 145 mph.
