    AWE out of non-res exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i've been trying to get a non-res exhaust from AWE for over 2 months now. all i keep hearing from them is that they're out of them and it'll take 2 weeks to get them in. anyone else having this problem? i'm getting anxious and am considering getting a FI instead.

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

I had the same problem when I ordered mine last February. Really wasn't in a hurry because it was winter, but am glad I waited for it. Didn't get it til around May, if I remember correctly.

Get the FI and enjoy your summer with the exhaust. Danny makes excellent products. Its their loss if they can't keep up with supply. Those will be my two choices next spring.

x2, you wont be dissapointed. FI, IMHO, is the best exhaust for these cars. awe is nice but the sound cant hold a candle to the FI

only thing is that i can get 20% off the awe and it's stainless. so with tax it's like 720. the FI is aluminum for 850. stainless is 1050. and being in pa i think the stainless is the way to go. don't know if i wanna shell out over a grand for an exhaust.

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

for me i've been between the awe and fi for a while. i figured since the awe is cheaper and awe is 10 minutes from my house to go with that one. now i don't know. I'm not crazy about the milltek. not tryin to it down but for the money it doesn't seem like the build quality is that of the awe or fi. plus it's too quiet for me. but if you like it that's all that counts.

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

just get ther AWE resonated. sounds really good. the nice thing with the AWE catbacks is that you can swap the center sections. you can always buy the non-res centers later or swap with another owner later in the future. at the very worst case, you can take your car to mufflex (trenton) or another muffler place and get the center pipes custom made.

well i was told by someone who got a discount. even if i don't get it its still the best price in my opinion. i really like awe's stuff. plus, like i said, they're 10 minutes from me.

Just get on the list...worth the wait. I have the non-res and love it, so does my wife! Or, buy it with the res and maybe trade the center section with someone who thinks theirs is too loud down the road if you don't think it's loud enough. That is the best part about the AWE...modular.

I think the discount only applies if the dealership is an authorized AWE dealer, not just any random Audi dealership.

Oh, and I have the B7 resonated system and I think it sounds perfect. Definitely louder than stock (remember that B7 stock > B6 stock) but not obnoxious ricer loud.

Where do you work at Don Rosen? My buddy Mark is in service. I'm not sure about what exhaust to run either. I was between AWE and Milltek, but like you said it's pricey!

What do you guys think about the APR systems? They have the best price hands down with downpipes your sitting 1G less then AWE and Milltek... this has been my debate since I just got a 08 S4 and I'm thinking of doing Exhaust as my first mod.

I would put the APR behind the milltek and AWE.

I did, but they said they didn't have any plans to do any older models and were only doing the B7 and new bodystyles.

When Corsa released their B7 system in the spring, I called and spoke to a tech at their shop. He assured me at the time that they were going to develop a catback for the B6. Only hold up was getting a car in for a fitting. Sounds like they changed their mind.

I have the Labree, as well, and I am extremely happy with it. The Labree resonated is as loud as the Milltek Non-Res but it has an even nicer tone. The Milltek sounds great, don't get me wrong, but the Labree/FI systems sound a little better. In terms of looks, it's no contest: the polished Labree/FI catback blows the dull finish of the Milltek away all day long.

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

Well if you guys want the Corsa B7 exhaust it doesn't take much to get it to fit I'm sure. I just installed a B7 RS4 Milltek exhaust on my B6 today on Friday and it didn't take that much fabrication to get it to fit. Just need a connector for the 2.25 pipes off of the cats to mate up to the 2.5 x pipe and some trimming of the pipe after the x pipe, and then cutting out the rear valence. It looks and sounds awesome though and I'm definitely glad I did it!! I'll post pictures up soon.

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

For everyone that doesn't want to wait 6-8 weeks for our Non-Resonated Exhaust to be back in stock, our B6 S4 exhausts are modular so you have the ability to install a Resonated Exhaust now and convert it to a Non-Resonated Exhaust later on by purchasing the optional straight pipe section.

With this, you have the best of both worlds. If you decide that the Resonated Exhaust is not loud enough for your taste, you can install the straight pipe section and liven things up a bit. If you later decide to quiet things down, you can simply swap the resonated section back in and enjoy the same performance with a slightly less aggressive sound.

HAHA I was in the same boat. I had the money, just got my s4 and wanted a nice deep sounding exhaust. Tried AWE and they said two weeks but all the shops told me that I would be lucky to get it in a few months sooo I talked to danny at FI and now I have a great looking exhaust system that isnt too loud but not too quite and sounds great..I cant wait to get downpipes

That would only be acceptable if AWE was willing to offer some sort of 'exchange program' to these people. I don't think most people want to spend $1250 for an $850 exhaust.

Sounds like AWE might start losing out to FI, Labree, etc. if production does not pick up.

Hello. I also have a 25th anniversary S4 (#43). I've been trying to get an AWE non res system since July and I've finally reached my breaking point. I'm intrigued about the LaBree system. What did you end up with on you car? I prefer a deep, loud exhaust. Any observations you'd be willing to share would be appreciated. By the way, I travel to Gig Harbor on a regular basis for business and occassionally go to Federal Way. Would love to hear your exhaust if you don't mind. Thanks

Re: AWE out of non-res exhaust

I'm going to start off by apologizing for the very long delay with these exhausts. It has taken us way too long to get these back in stock and for that, I'm very sorry.

Luckily, I have some good news. Our fabrication department started their latest production run of these exhausts last week and we have started to fill some backorders. The first set exhausts are being shipped today, with more ready tomorrow.

Anyone who currently has an exhaust an backorder please PM me and I will let you know when the exhaust should be able to ship.
