i have an '01 allroad and after folding the seats down to fit my bike in i brought them back up and the right/middle seat folded up fine but the left seat wont lock into place. it goes all the way back and i can see the locking mechanism start to catch but it doesnt catch all the way, the red tab is still up, and i can easily push the seat down. anyone else have this problem?

You have to adjust the pin a ittle bit, it has to fit exactly in the latch.

The pin it latches to needs to be adjusted. It may be a little loose and pushed back when you tried to close it. Not a difficult fix.
