V6 Camry is faster than a WRX
Escalade is as fast as a Cooper S
Tundra 5.7 is as fast as a 328i
FX50 is as fast as a Mustang Bullitt
E63 AMG WAGON is faster than an R8

I can't believe a camry runs a 14.3. It'd be a sad day for anybody in a chipped A4!!!

try that against the tdi r8. not the same race.

the new WRX is nto the same as the old style WRX's, especially not the bugeyed ones. They're heavier and look the same as any other car only with a hood scoop. i still find it hard to believe the fWD camry can launch with the same prowess as a awd car.

I've driven my boys 6spd V6 Accord and that'll lay the smack down on a stock 01 S4. It just pulls and pulls to 130 and still wants to keep goin. The ratios are perfect for the engine 2. I got stomped by an escalade in my chipped 1.8t from a 5-60 roll. However those previous numbers posted are straight line times. Around VIR
The WRX spanks the V6 Camry silly
The cooper S goes faster in reverse around the downhill sweeper on to the back straight at VIR north.
The 328I is done with its lap by the time the tundra makes it outta the the steep right uphill turn halfway around the track.
The FX-50 and Rustang would be close.
The E63 AMG has something in common with the airplanes i fly, they both lean way more then the average person is comfortable with to turn sharply.

true, but torque went up too, which should off-set the weight gain, at least partially.

02 WRX = 1399 kg, 217 lb-ft @4000rpm (2.0l)
06 WRX = 1448 kg, 235 lb-ft @3600rpm (2.5l)
08 WRX = 1425 kg, 226 lb-ft @2800rpm (2.5l)

Keep in mind the fuel tank also got bumped up to 16.9gal from 15.9gal in the new ones.

how's that supposed to make a difference in time trials? also, the only way you could tell previous WRX's from their RS baby-brothers was the hoodscoop, so this isn't something new.

Every once in a while, I get the itch to buy a Marauder and then I hear that voice in my head reminding me that an Accord V6 is faster. Some cars are just too much of a sleeper...

you're not going to feel a 9lbft of torque change. the weight it's measured at is it's loaded weight w/o passengers, including petrol, so the smalelr tank is only equal to 4 dollar less fill ups. what i mean is that subaru had some wacky designs for the impreza, that i really was into, but now they had to go make it look so generic.

i too have driven a v6 coupe accord, with an intake and exhaust, and it was slower than molases in january. nothign nearly as quick as when i picked up my S.

A stock WRX is a pretty rare thing so I doubt there will be too many stories by Camry owners of how they spanked a new (or old) WRX. Come to think of it, there aren't too many new WRXs around period..thank God.

hahah this is funny. I hate the fact that so many people think the mini coper s is a fast car. They are slow as shit, all they can do is handle. Straigt line the car si slow as shit, and thats the S too!

theres a guy in his early 30s with a new one near me. I drive past it every day on my way to work. its a 4 door, and i honestly think it looks like a camry or corolla with a hood scoop. i really dislike it.

Yeah but they are a hoot to drive. Have you ever driven one? Fun as shit and easy to get around town in. I know we are talking about speed but if I was in a city where parking was a problem, I'd definitely look into a Cooper S. Plus when you drive a Mini ,everyone on the road likes you and lets you into traffic for some reason.
