    Apr Ecu Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Quick questions for you gents/ladies.

Is my 2-program APR ECU suppose to be "applied" as soon as I start my engine without me utilizing the flipswitch to turn it on?

Reason I'm asking is because when I start my car and don't bother switching the ECU programming on, I still push out ~15 to 18PSI.

    ************************************************** *****

Other questions that I'm wondering about is what exactly does a chipped ECU affect and how does it push the stock boost from 8 to 15?

    Re: Apr Ecu Question

Have you tried switching it to stock mode and then shutting it off? How does it start then? In my A4 with APR - It holds the last mode you had selected.

    No I have not.

I'm still trying to figure out where my "stock" mode is. I think I've deduced that program 1 may be 93-mode, and program 2 is stock.

So the ECU doesn't restart itself after engine shut-off?

    Re: Apr Ecu Question

Press and hold the "set" button on your cruise control. After approximately five seconds, the "check engine" light on your dash will begin to blink once per second. This will tell you that you are activating program one. This blinking sequence will continue for approximately five seconds.

After this five second interval, the "check engine" light will begin blinking twice per second. This will indicate that you have activated the second program. This process is continued to access any remaining programs you may have purchased. (three blinks = program three, four blinks = program four).

Step 2: Once you have activated the desired program, simply release the "set" button. The "check engine" light will go off, and you will be locked in that program until you change it.

got these of there web page for you maybe it will help

I already know how to initiate the program, I just didn't know what the layout of the programming is...is it:

    1. 93 octane, 2. stock

    or

    1. stock, 2. 93 octane.

Once I figure out which layout it is, I can than figure out how to turn off the program. As of right now, I'm running in 93 program and didn't know if the ECU resets itself after I shut off the engine.

if you have the programmer, it could be either of those

APR *usually* puts stock mode first, but if someone has a programmer, they could load them differently

    Re: Apr Ecu Question

I think I've figured it out.

    Park
Let car run between 45secs to 2 minutes (depending on how hard you pushed your turbos)
    Turn off engine
    Turn to ON position
    Set to Program 1 again...

Took me a few experimental runs and numerous turning on of the engines to figure it out.
