    Better MPG after cat-back exhaust?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I installed an AWE catback non-resonated exhaust a few months ago and my gas mileage has gone up...I now get 18-19 MPG city driving (verified at the pump, not on the computer). I used to get around 16 MPG in the city...or less.

Anyone else experience a boost in MPG after an exhaust?
    Cheers,
    -Kurt

Re: Better MPG after cat-back exhaust?

Can someone just please post yes so I can justify the use of my recently paid off credit card?

o and that a full exhaust w/ no cats is even better MPG...

Probably due to a more efficient exhaust system. Same type of reasoning behind a chip giving better gas milage. And anything helps on these beasts!

I installed an AWE system on my car and the mileage went down, verified at the pump. Went from getting about 22mpg on the hwy with cruise set at just over 70 to 20.5-21 on the same trips with the same cruise settings. Happened immediately upon installation.

    So not sure whats up.

Who the hell cares!!!! This car is too much fun to try to get good gas mileage. Ive had my corsa cat-back on for about 3 weeks now and ive lost gas mileage, only because i cant stop loving the sound of the car now and always find myself hard on the gas. But to answer your question i noticed today on a long trip while conserving gas i got around 3mpg more than usual, so now im getting 22mpg.

X2 I think my mileage has definitely decreased. I try so so hard to keep my right foot from nailing it but the sound is so bloody addicting...especially the ramp up after a shift from 1st to 2nd...ok...I'm rambling again about how awesome the Corsa system is...
