Noise coming from new Stoptech kit only during throttle/coasting??

I just had a Stoptech 332mm kit installed this week on my B5 S4. I'm running the Axxis Ultimates that came w/ the kit and Ferodo DS2500's on the rear. I am getting an odd noise from the driver's side front area during acceleration and coast....but the noise instantly goes away when the brake pedal is depressed.

You can hear a rotational quality to the squeaking noise. As you drive faster the noise increases in frequency. Any ideas what could be going on here?

The installer suggested I give it a few hundred miles so some pad deposit can build up on the slotted rotor surface...then hopefully the squeak will be gone.

I had the exact problem with mine. I emailed Stoptech and they said as long as all the bolts were torqued there shouldn't be any noise. As you said it increases with speed. It's like the disk is warped and scraping every time it rotates. When the brakes are applied it goes away. I thought I left the wheel lugs loose but they were torqued. I also checked the bolts holding the disk to the hat and they were all tight. I can't figure it out.

Its a pestering problem with these brakes, but there's a simple fix. Use some Disk Brake Quiet, the orange kind that hardens and stays pliable like silicone. Any disk brake quiet will help, but I've had great success with this one. It worked for me...
Also, read up on their website about brake rotor "warping". You'll learn a few driving tips (such as not sitting at any traffic light with your brakes applied after a hard stop) because this is a major cause for deposit build-up which we all feel as "warp"
Awesome brakes, once you accept that they are a performance product, and they will squeal once in a while... any performance brake pad will do this.

I'm also getting a knocking/clunking noise from the rears WHILE braking.

As I am coming to a stop I'm also getting a knocking type noise from the rears.

Someone on another forum had a similar problem and suggested bending the metal retainer clip inward on the top of the caliper bridge to better hold the pads in place.

pads tend to move around due to any run-out of the rotor and any tolerances in the brake caliper and pads.
You can try bending the clip, but if you use the Disk Brake Quiet on the backside of the pads, let it dry 10 min and then re-install you'll be very happy. Also, you can try chamfering the leading edge of the brake pads, to help eliminate squeaking.

I will try the brake quiet. I have a friend who runs a machine shop and I'm having him true up both sides of both disks.

Are they slotted rotors? Slotted rotors make noise as they spin. Did this on my Evo, and my friends Evo too.
