    When doing Boxter S fronts............

what do people do to the rears to even out the braking pressure? I was looking at a set up on sale with the Boxter S (4 piston) fronts and 996 (4 piston) rears. How effeciant would that be on an A4 Quattro?

I know when going with the regular Boxter, people use the S4 rears. But from other threads I read, it says that stopping distance actually increases due to the unbalance of the 4 pistion fronts opposed the rear. But if I were to place 996 4 piston brakes on the rear, would that increase my stopping distance? And how is the balance of that on the A4 Quattro? Good or Bad? Pros and cons? As much info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

How do you intend on attaching 996 rears to your car?

I had no clue you could place 996 calipers on the rears...

i used to have boxster brakes before i realized they sucked lol... not nearly enough power for me...

anyways, they broke fine with stock rear rotors and mintex red box pads

They were being sold as a set. I have no idea. So, I take it the best route is maybe the A8 rotors, TT carriers, SS lines, Good brake fluid like Motul, and HPS pads. Looks like cheaper is better in this siatuation.

When doing those porsche brakes, you need to compensate with much larger and thicker rotors, fitted brake lines and custom carriers which are not off the shelf. $$$
