I got pull over for my "weird tail-light", I was back home from school at 10, a cop following me and stopped me. Then he said my tail lights were kind of weird and wrote me a fix ticket. He could not explain it well. But I live with it because it is just 10 buck. Then I searched on youtube and found that mine are as same as others. Mine are stock and I check the fuse box and nothing goes wrong.

I did not want to agrue with him because I do not have my front plate on, so 10 is fine but just wanna know if my tails are weird or not.

I will try it. I do not drive with fog lights on. I tested it last night and found everything normal. But I do not know what the function of the upper part of the tails is because they wont not on.

I would think he could tell you if a bulb was out or not and be able to articulate it instead of saying it was "weird". I don't know where mountain view is, but unless the cop was driving a 1960's Ford Galaxy and had a six shooter, I'd think he's seen modern tail lights before..

$10 ticket? around here (worcester,ma) cops wouldnt pull you over unless you did a drive by cuz its a whole headache of paperwork.

alright i'm not going to deny the fact that i just returned from the bar and am a bit in the hole, but i have taken interest in this particular thread. first of all, where is mountain view if you don't mind me asking? secondly, i hope you didn't sign or pay anything yet. those are definitely stock b5 a4/s4 taillights. i can understand a cop pulling you over if your euro fog was on, but otherwise, what criteria was he basing this "weirdness" upon? by my estimation you have done nothing wrong/illegal. fight

Mountain View is in Silicon Valley CA. I did sign for the ticket because I did not know if my tails were normal or not. I was afraid that he would accuse me more because I did not have my front plate on. He wrote," RIGHT REAR STOP LAMP" on the description part of the ticket.

sorry about the ticket man... shouldn't be hard to shake at all, in fact i'd be surprised if any sort of sanction stuck if you were diplomatic about it. i mean how the hell are they going to penalize you for stock equipment. unbelievable. i guess there isn't a whole lot of crime (short of white collar) going on out in silicon valley, ca cheers

Mountain View cops are dicks. They don't have much real to do when it's not Friday or Saturday night so they do shit like this. This is why people say fuck the police, you are doing nothing wrong and get a ticket that the cop can't explain.
