Got backed into!!!

so this girl backed into my car a couple nights ago.. dented the right front bumper and quarter panel... its not crazy bad but id assume i need a new bumper/quarter panel... i am friends with her and she said she is willing to pay up to 2 grand cash before going to the insurance company... i have a non sline bumper so naturally the gears started turning...should i get an s line bupmer (if possible) and how much would something like this cost to repair no idea how much a quarter panel costs painted any other suggestions on turning this negative into a positive btw i truely learned how much i loved this car cause when she got out she was already crying and i still went off like a mad man

I don't think you should really take her for the whole two grand considering an S-line bumper costs around $500 + maybe $300 for paint + $200 for install on non S-line. But yeah, definetely upgrade.

if you are going through the stealership..expect the cost to be around 2 grand. That was with an grille too. Tire shop ripped my bumper off while they were working on it and payed for another sline front.

Either that, or I'm assuming your mean front fender? Quarter panel is the rear of the car... I don't mean to be a smart ass...

same thing happened to me on Maui. It ended up costing me $2100 for the work done here with a new fender and windshield washer reservoir, repaired some scratches on my bumper. Everything is expensive in Hawaii, so that should be enough. I'd go get some estimates... and an s-line or DTM bumper :D

We need pictures please. I am assuming your front bumper will just need to be repaired and repainted (about $300 tops) and the fender will depend on how bad it is dented.

Just by reading, I think $1,000 might be able to fix everything all said and done. You most likely will not need any new parts, so I'm sorry you can't turn this into something positive.

Post some pics, so we can actually see what happened. You can go through the dealership and get a new s-line bumper and have your fender repaired for less than the $2k. It's difficult to interpret damage without a pic. wink wink, nudge nudge.

Can't see where the fender is bent, but that can definitely be repaired.

IMO, just tell them to paint the half of the bumper where the damage is. Just the corner might be iffy to see the blending, but the grill takes up the whole front so there is no need to get the whole bumper repainted. All the bumper needs is to get sanded down in that corner, nothing needs repairing. $200-250 from a good independent body shop if you take your own bumper off.

However, I'm not sure how hard it will be the fix that fender. Taking it off will be a beotch, and I'm not sure how to correct the bend if there is one. Go get a quote

and if it is on a body line then it will be even tougher! no one will/can fix my door ding on my fender line! errrr good luck!
