    cluster problem

I bought a new cluster because of the damn fading display of my own. I have a few questions on replacing the old one.

    1. Can VAG-COM do the job?
    2. I did search and saw that VAG Tacho will do the mileage reset and all the stuff. However, I already got a VAG-COM cable. Can I just get a copy of the VAG Tacho software and so the job? And where can I get a copy of VAG Tacho? Or I really need to buy the whole set again?
    3. How can I do it with VAG-COM or VAG Tacho?

I am new to the forum and I don't have much knowledge about cars. Thanks. =]

Can VAGCOM do what job? Yes it can, unless you are trying to set the mileage if the cluster has over 62 miles on it...

Vag Tacho software will NOT work with vagcom cable

That means vagcom won't be able to do anything if I bought a used cluster?

Yes, VAGCOM can do anything to the cluster except for change mileage, unless the cluster has less than 62 miles... That you will need VAG Tacho for...

For VAG Tacho and the cable, if I gonna buy it on ebay, is the software "registered"? Or I should go to the VAG Tacho offical website to buy it?

Another question. Is that I need to change the mileage into KM first before using VAG Tacho to change the mileage?
