Fell in love with a hose...

Finally bought and installed a Forge TIP after close to 1 year of running the FXK03 program. Man what a difference. Now I know what surging is, never thought I had any before I upgraded. Power goes on smoothly now.
Was a pain to install though, not a lot of space around. Also, the hose was rubbing on one of the mounts for the headlight, had to shave it (the mount) because I was afraid It'd cut the hose after a few months.

Took the time to clean my stock IC while I was there. No money to upgrade so I figured a clean IC would still be better than a dirty one

You can clean it with a solvent, gas works well to get all of the oil out of the IC.

Cleaned the outside with engine cleaner + tap water. Cleaned the inside with gas, slushed it inside. It came out black. I chose gas because I figured that even if some stays in, the engine won't mind.

The Forge Tip is great, I have the same issue as you but mine is compressed slightly by the headlight. Also I didn't think it came with an extra nipple for our cars, but I plugged it without issue.

Re: Fell in love with a hose...

Got a 2004, all nipples were there, and at the right place. The headlight also compresses the hose slightly but I'm not afraid of cutting it at that place.
Funny thing is that when I took the EOM hose out, the nipple closest to the turbo ripped in my hands. Maybe I had a leak there and didn't know. Darn that area gets hot.

Re: Fell in love with a hose...

The extra nipple must be for the older B6's like yours... so yours is compressed a little also, which makes me feel better... my stock tip looked pretty bad as well when I removed it.

Re: Fell in love with a hose...

Just to be clear pondside, my TIP was compressed by the headlight itself (no danger there) just like you, and also by the "tab" where one of the screws for the headlight is. That part stressed me as it was fairly pointy. I had to grind a 45 degree angle in it just to be on the safe side. I grinded the plastic and the metal thing in which the screw goes.
