1/4 Milers. How bad is it to run your car in such heat ? (waterfest)

Is it bad for the motor to be pulling in all that hot air? I mean when its plus 90 out, I will not leave vacuum LOL. I cant imagine lining up and giving full throttle for a few gears ! I've seen bags of ice on top of the engines last year is that really the only thing you can do?

I dont understand how people baby their car's soooooo much..lol

It isnt going to hurt the car running in that heat. It def. wont perform as well though.

Yes if you can spray down your intercoolers you should. It does help cool it down or if they allow you to use Nitrious that will really do the trick.

i ran in 90+ degrees like 2 weeks ago my first run 3:30pm 90+ degrees out when i was stage 1 was a 13.9 My last run 10:30pm 75 degrees out 13.4

yeah if you can spray nitrous on the intercooler before and after runs that will help you.. If you can run a fogger kit on the intercooler and something in the intake that would be good also.

PFFT. it was nearly 30 degrees the day i ran my best time ever. Its not THAT bad for you.

ok you know what screw you all jk lol i live in south fl and its always hot and i always beet on my car but thats just me haha and yes of course performance will be hindered by heat ... also remove your lower grills on the bottom your intercooler will keep cooler and yes spraying them with a spare c02 bottle helps ... just use ike a piantball tank c02 bottle

Try running in 110+ degree temps, hell the track doesnt open till 9pm here because its so hot.

Worst case scenario you're EGTs will kick in and enrich your car, and you will feel it. But that would only come close to happening if you hot lap over and over.

Nah, eventually I will and it will be in the fall lol, I cant abuse it that badly (even though you guys are saying its not that bad ). Im going down saturday though for sure and i'll be in exhibition.
