    Hello all,
This is my first post, but I have been browsing these forums for quite some time. I have a question on replacing an ignition coil pack. I ran a scan on my CEL and came back with a misfire on cylinder 4. I was wondering if someone could tell me the placement of cylinder 4 and a brief run down of how to swap out the coil pack....I assume its really quick and easy but advice is welcome.

P.S. Do I have to order these or is it possible to find them locally. Thanks guys.

The same thing happened to me. I took it to the dealer, and they replaced all eight coilpacks with newer/better ones under warranty, and they washed my car while they were at it...

If your car's still under warranty, I'd do the same.

Definitly dont!, most dealers have a brush car wash that loves to catch dirt and swirl up our paint. Get it handwashed or go to a brushless car wash.

Well taking it to the dealership was the plan but the stupid audi warranty transfer process can take up to two weeks. Dealership wont touch the car without it being in my name. So if anyone has advice on changing it that would be awesome as I am on my way to go pick up the coil pack now. Thanks.

My dealer actually does a nice job with the car washes. They clean the wheels and even dry the car.

5 replies and no answer? wtf guys ?

The answer to his original question is passenger side rear most coilpac.
Cylinder # 1 is the front passenger side cylinder and progresses clockwise.
The newer coilpacs are all black and cost about $ 35.00 each at the dealership.

Part # is 077-905-117-S (the S designates the build change)

Comparing old > new it looks like the seal has been improved to keep moisture out, but DON'T wash your engine...EVER
Just wipe it down with rags etc.

Just for kicks I "reverse engineered" one one..
