Problem child

As some of you know i own a pretty much stock 99 1.8. I bought the car in march and ever since its beed a new problem everyday. When i bought it i was under the impression that it was going to be a good car, possibly better than the jetta i had before it, but it has been the worst car i have owned in a while. Even my 91 f150 has way less problems than this Audi. I'm not sure if it just doesnt like me of if im doing something wrong by driving the car or what, but something has to give. Since i have bought it i have had to replace the cat, two sets of tyres in the back, found out the ball joints are bad, abs it taking a shit, and this morning my air bag light came on. I am begining to hate this car. It has been nothing but a disappointment to me. Dont get me wrong, im not dissing on audi, i love audi, and all of the cars i see on az, but this car is a problem child. I HAD big plans for this car, but now i think the only plan for it is a replacement by a 08 Jetta.

Errr.....did you do some research before you bought the car? Everyone was complaining about them. But you can't beat the awd. I understand your love hate relationship. But if you wanted low maintenance, you should have gotten a honda. My 01 has been nothing but a bitch. But once it's running, it's running good. My EFK just went out, and so did one of my d2s bulbs. There goes another $200 just for that. Oh well. Also, you got a warranty? Vag-Com? Work on it yourself? I live in IL too. Where you at?

I did do a bit of research on it before hand, but i guess it wasnt enough, i assumed that it would just be a pertentious version of my friends passat. I have no warranty, but have a vag-com on order, and i can do the work my self, but i dont have a whole bunch of money right now to be dumping into it. I think i might scan it today while im at work and see whats up with it and about how much its going to cost, and then decide if its time for the a4 to go or not. I understand its going to be 10 years old next year, and things do break, but all this at one time? But none the less i have made up a new game out of all this, its called "whats wrong with the audi today". Anyway Im from rantoul, its about 15 miles north of champaign.
