oldest s4

I was looking at the production numbers of the North American S4. And I think it said that the MY 2000 production started in September 1999. But I took a look earlier today at the sticker by the driver's side door of my car and it said it was assembled on July 1999.

does anyone know the real starting production dates? and is there a way to tell what factory assembly number my car is?

...and it also may be interesting to know who has the oldest s4 around here.

yeah you'd have to say the oldest "US" S4... europe had them before us asses.. LOL no offense there Audi_S4! How's the intercoolers working for you? what did you end up with

what a difference. I aint got any logs , only street comparisons for me.
in wintertime when the car was first chipped I could hold my buddies M3 and other E39 M5 untill 160km/h and then it started walking me bad... after run or 2-3 my car was dead haha, that was in 5-10° outside.
yesterday it was 20° outside and we did a 4th gear roll from 100km/h to 250. I put a hoodlength on the M5 all the way thrue 4th gear (210km/h) and then it started passing and at about 240 it had 1.5-2 cars on me.
so I can take the same car 40-50km/h longer next to me in 10-15° hotter weather...

and back to the point, I wish I had a 2000 s4 haha . I'm stuck with the oldest one there is. I believe there were limo's made from 12/97 but never seen one for sale from that age.

so far (7-1999) looks like the starting production dates, and not (9-1999) as I was led to believe.

and again, is there anyway to know the factory assembly number? i wanna know who's number 1.

if I didn't mention, other's dont have open recall either. they are all taken care of.
it's LG recall-installing cooling fan cover? somethng like that.

just spoke with Audi...I was hoping it would be something like a new set of turbos, cluster or maybe even brand new seats. But it is in fact for a "newer" LG fan cover. What could possibly go wrong with the current cover I have now? it's proven itself for almost 9 years. I'm still getting it replaced anyways, its free!
