Hello, I own a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro Tip. I notice that when I come to a stop my car idles a bit. Nothing horrible but you can def. tell its not normal. I was told to clean the throttle body. How do I clean that? Also when searching it also said to clean the Idle control something???. I saw the instructions but it was for a different model and engine. Some help please. Thank in advance

    thats the Throttle

remove the hose by loosening the 7mm hose clamp, and bending the hose out of the way.

    to clean it:

use a throttle cleaner from an auto supplier and a rag. spray the TB with the cleaner, and spray some on the rag, then open the throttle blade(if you push in towards the bottom it will flip open) and clean the blade and surrounding area. there shouldnt be any black left when you are done.

the car may not want to start, or idle roughly when you are done. thats because of the throttle cleaner in the intake. it will burn off after a few seconds.
