    Engine Fan

Not sure if I am calling it by the correct name but I think I'm clear enough...

Is there a way to verify the fan is working as intended? Pretty warm in Chicago today. Once I reached home, I checked my oil and noticed the dip stick was pretty hot. Engine temp gauge never goes past the middle mark. I don't think I ever hear the fan turn on. Figured I would ask since I was surprised how warm the dip stick was.

    Thanks in advance.

get it vagged it could be one of the two fan switches or the fans itself.....the code for the switched should say something like open ground and when you fan has a problem it should say something about the highspeed fan not abble to operate because of something blocking it.

Can I have it "vagged/scanned" at a AutoZone? If not, if anyone in the NW side of Chicago can help, please send me a PM...I'd be happy to compensate your time.
