Why is this sad. I would think you would want the latest changes from the manufacturer.

I love how concerned people get over an ECU reflash.

    Re: sad...

I guess what I meant was, some of us make kind of a big deal of it. You've gotta pay to play. If they relfash you, just go back to your tuner, pay the $40 and be done with it. We drive Audi's. We should all be able to afford a $40 reflash....If you can't, you're driving the wrong car.

    Re: sad...

im not worried about the money. all i was talking about was the big difference of being chipped and stock. thats all. i am not concerned about paying to have it reflashed. and like i said my tuner is going to do it for free. my point was that i took for granted what driving around chipped felt like. thats all. nothing about money

and yes LAS i believe it was that update.

    Re: sad...

$75 to reflash at some tuners. It's more inconvenient than anything else. It's just a silly waste of time...you flash a program, they wipe it out put their updates, you then wipe their updates out and flash back your program back. A big cycle of waste really.

Funny that your regulator just went out. Both my driver and passenger fronts have gone out now (both this year). Hot weather seems to have something to do with it going out faster, but my dealership confirmed that our regulators blow...very very commonly replaced item on b7s.

Also, they're required to have you sign the consent form when you do a TSB flash with them. It's so if you have a tuner program, you can't sue them for wiping it out and if they mess up your ECM while trying to overwrite your program, they're not responsible for anything. Did you sign this form?
