    possible boost leak....hose kit??

    so i think i have a boost leak. my boost spikes at 20 then drops down to about 13. i dont have any kind of aftermarket hoses (TBB, F hose etc.) i am looking into purchasing a kit now, anyone know where i can get a quality kit for a decent price? thanks

    pressure test the car first before wasting a bunch of money.

    easiest thing to do even before pressure testing it is check your TBB and F hose (if you have one) thoroughly. if those are rip free, then pressure test.

    I just replaced the throttle body boot and I was having the same problem as you at first. Where about in NC are you at?

    samco kits FTL. wayyyy too much money. and didnt they go out of business?

    go to ebay, type in "audi s4 hose kit", i believe the company is ASI. you can get a full kit for $165 shipped. its what i have and they work beautifully,just the same as Samco without the name brand.

    Pressure test first before you buy anything. Do you have a boost gauge? What does it read at idle? It could be your N75, but pressure test before you spend a dime.

    Well, I guess I'm the third Fayetteville guy with a possible boost leak. I hooked up my palm to the car today and found 3 misfire codes in the system. I also think I smell buring oil, but I'm not sure on that one. I need to get under the car once it's cools off and check it out. Have any of you tried the AWE way of checking for a boost leak or is there a good place in Fayetteville to have it done?

    i dont know of any good euro shops around here, and honestly wouldnt wanna trust anyone in fayettenam. im gonna piece the tester together, is anyone close that has access to air?

    Pressure testing is easy. Just follow AWE's directions to making a pressure tester and get an air compressor. You can buy a small air compressor at Wal-Mart for cheap. It's not going to power air tools worth a damn, but it's cheap and handy.

    If any compressor will do then I have one. I just need to go and get a quick diconnect. May need to get the parts to build me a tester.
