Hey guys, thinking of getting some kw v3 coilovers for my b7 s4. mostly street w/track application (realistically around once every 2 mo's). i've got good reviews from the porsche guys on 6speedonline. just wanted to get input from the guys w/the setup. ride quality on street, track application, manufacture quality.

ride quality on street is the only problem with these. on comfort settings they still seem to crash into pot holes and can also get bouncy if too soft. but for track and quality they are top notch. if you live in the snow belt, the stainless steel bodies and threads are really nice to have since they do not rust or seize up

    Re: kw v3 coilover

I have to disagree completely. On the factory settings, these are the most streetable coilover I've ever experienced for any car. They have less bounce than stock, ride slightly rougher, but that is to be expected. They do crash into dips, but I think if anything it's a little better than the stock setup in that regard. That is one thing I hated about the car form day one, and I guess might just be inherent with a 3900 lb car with a V8 sitting over the front wheels.

I haven't made it to the track since I got mine, but giving them a good working over on the street they still do have a bit of body roll (on the factory settings) but it's defiinitely reduced compared to stock.

I put a lot of research into them before I bought them and I'm glad I didn't cheap out, as streetablility was really really important to me. I didn't want to end up like my friend who bought FK's for his Mk V GTI and didn't even make it a year on them because the ride was so terrible.

no offense but i think v3 is pointless do you really need the extra oil reserve tank, go with V2's and you will be happy and these do ride smooth on the street thats why the are so goddamn expensive, but its okay i'm going to get mine homie hook-up prices

Agreed, but you can't buy V2's for an S4, only V3's are available.

    you just made my point.

anyway, if you want the best all around coilover setup and money is not an issue, then look into the Stasis Motorsports.

I totally agree with you. The only "problem" I have with them is at higher speeds. They dive into the dip instead of gliding over them. This can obviously be fixed with a softer setting but then id be compromising performance for such a minor issue.

Definitely better than stock and worth the extra cash.
BTW where in Chicago are you? I might be able to give you a ride so you can see for yourself.

    Re: kw v3 coilover

V3s are great and the reason to get them over the V2s is the compression adjustment. Being able to tune then specifically was a great advantage for me. When I switched out my wheels and brakes my un-sprung weight went way down and I was able to stiffen the compression w/o harming the ride quality. I think these things ride and perform great. This is my daily drivers and I go on a few long road trips all w/o any comfort issues. The manufacturing quality is also top notch on these. Most adjustable coil over for the money.

No personal experience with them, but every B6/7 S4 owner I've read comments from complains about how brutally bouncy they are.
