Why did you get a different turbo? Is that a 35R? You should get one setup running correctly before you open up another can of worms IMO

Reading that again I guess it came off kind of rude, sorry Winston, didnt mean it that way. Just saying you should get all the hickups cleared up before possibly starting more with a new setup. Good luck, cant wait to see the vband setup installed!

This setup is going to the dyno and it will make power this time. BTW get rid of that turbo you have and go bigger, if even a 3076R. Feels completely different even on 6-8psi

No offense taken Shawn and I do agree with you... No point in changing setups until I get a smooth running one and I'm getting close but I'll admit I'm getting tired of the limitations of this REVO software

The boys showed me the new piece of machined metal and I'm just considering changing the housing.

I don't post up as many updates as the other BAT builds as I'm learning from them at the same time. Right now my main issue is that stupid rattle I am getting and it has to be the tensioner and chain assembly.

The picture is just of a exhaust housing with a vband discharge. Tial makes them for the 25/28, 3071, 3076, 35r, 37/40 and 42/45 size turbos.

Here is a 25/28 turbo with the tial housing.

The Tial housings are very nice but damn are they tiny of the size wheel they fit. A Tial 3076R looks smaller than a 4 bolt GT28RS

The V-band sure does open up the mounting possibilities.

Im well aware ... we are installing our 3rd Tial housing vband setup right now at the shop, the housings do have different "looks" though depending on the size, that one pictures looks like the 35R variant

    Re: Such a pretty snail...

Mounting possibilities aside... the Tial housing being 33% smaller and having the same aspect ratio should provide much faster flow and spool.

And the size is pretty crazy!

You would think so, but Full-race were given Tial housings to do testing with and they found that it didn't make a differerence. Only thing you gain with the Tial is its held on with a Vband(not sure if that is good or not) and it is lighter.

The housing just looks smaller but actually the tial is just thinner wall so the volume should still be the same. If they were to actually make the volume smaller with the same a/r it would choke sooner.
