Hi,

First let me say I am very picky on where I park. I always try to find a far away end spot & I park as close to the side as possible (near the end). I had to go to the Bronx on Monday so I took my wifes Jeep Liberty & she took my car to work (in Somers NY) as she is in a much better corperate office park.

So she mentioned she went to lunch & when the car was returned, there was a big (only to me & probably you guys too) bunch of scratches on the rear bumper (like someone was parking by feel).

They really arent bad but they arent perfect like they were.

If the bumper was metal, I could use some wax & buff it out. However since its plastic there isnt much I can do.

In terms of my wife, there isnt much I can do as you do have to squint to see it.

Or is there?

Any ideas?

I just had my car repainted after she was keyed and two days later my roommate's booty call parked next to her in the garage and when I came out the next morning I had two door dings with scratches on my fresh paint. Of course according to her she didn't do it. It was like that when she pulled in. I've never wanted to choke someone more in my life.

Its not his wife's fault - its other people's totally disregard/respect for others property. Had my car for 2 weeks, parked it at work came out and notice a quarter size door ding. No note or anything, they just took off. Now I park the farthest away from anyone and walk.

If you have to squint to see it, it's probably just clearcoat. Have a good detail shop/body shop buff it out then get it waxed.

If the scratches are too deep and require repainting, I would just leave it.

Took the dog swimming at the park and found this nightmare when I got back. Think the douche left a note? Yeah right .

Body shop gave me a $1000 estimate.

You can have that buffed out to look much better than it does now (get rid of all the white paint) but there will still be scuffs that you won't like. Seriously, $1,000 is a rip off.

I had the same damage + some, so I had to get my bumper repaired, sanded and prepped, and resprayed. This cost me about $200 from a good body shop, with me just dropping off the bumper so they didn't have to do any labor of that sort.

^^^ Yeap just take the bumper off and let them do work on it.
With the paint code and being black it'll match up just fine and it should be $250 or less to get done, period.

My headlight and fender are slightly scuffed as well so the estimate included that too. I was kidding about buffing it out too.

Did you guys drive around w/out a bumper while it was getting repaired or you got second cars?
