Yeahhh I think you might need to rewire the whole car. Probably a short somewhere upstream in the very very very beginning. Good luck tearing your whole car apart.

    Re: tail light HELP!

chill lol He bought several new bulbs and even replaced the thing that holds the bulbs. Unfortunately, it didn't work and the bulb is sometimes on and sometimes off. ...I think he knew to change the bulb so let's try to be helpful

    Re: tail light HELP!

Okay okay ha I'm sorry but he could have been a little more detailed in what he has tried and hasn't tried yet. But if it iss sometimes on sometimes off then it is more then likely has to be a wiring issue. Which could be a complete bitch to fix if he has no idea where the damage to the wire could be. Pretty much just a huge headache is what he has in front of him.

But this is all based on what blu said that you have replaced the bulb holder with a new one and have changed the bulb. But one thing that could narrow down your troubles is take the left side (the one that is giving you trouble) bulb holder, unplug it and plug it into the right side tail light wire and see if it works fine or not. Because then you definitely know its the left sides wiring.... hope this helps

may be the contact part is oxidized?
Try to use some sand paper.
That happens to my license plate light too.

If the bulb and the holder is new it shouldn't have oxidized that quickly that it would cause a bad connection... but maybe
