Go to the dealer and have them reprogram the shifter. There's three different settings, they'll let you try them out in the shop. Cost me about $45.

    Re: shifter notchy?

I was wondering if it was just a transmission fluid issue or not. We all know Audi manuals aren't exactly bolt-action precise, but it seems to hesitate when switching gears, and that bothers the hell out of me.

If it is just a fluid's issue, what have you guys had good luck switching to, and how many quarts do I need to do the change-over?

    Re: shifter notchy?

It's not necessarily a fluid issue. While the car is naturally notchy, you can always try a JHM short throw, updated bushings and linkage, etc.

Get a stubmount, enginemounts, trany mounts and a rear diffmount. Then you'll have your self a really smooth trany.
