    Bad Alarm Module

I'm at the end of my rope here. My alarm module is bad. I spent $50 + 25 for rush shipping for a used one, and after being assured it would work, it was the wrong one. The dealer wants 500 for this part. I'm already 180 in for 2 hours of labor. Isnt there anyway I can just disable/bypass this thing. I just wanna get in my car and start it. Right now the only way is to pop start and drive down the street with my alarm going off for 5 mins. 96 a4 2.8 5 speed.

You can't just remove the fuse for the alarm system till you have money to fix it? Or maybe try and fix it yourself?

Edit: Just looked in the manual and it said that fuse also is for the interior lights, map lights, and vanity lights.

Theres no fuse, that would be too easy for thieves. Believe me, I've looked and asked. The module is tied into the ignition/computer/everything. I would at least like to bypass the immobilizer. I can deal with my lights flashing for a few minutes after I start it up (alarm horn unplugged).

Interesting, I may have to try that. Things never work out that easy for me, though. You would think the dealer thats had my car for a week would know that, but then again, why would they help shortcut an easy fix? Then again, they dont think outside the box and probly need their bay open for the next headache.
