What are the best spark plugs to run for Stage 2+? I am going to be doing some service work on the car and just want to do it all at once. Thanks.

    Re: Plugs

i had the grade cooler when i was 3- for a while (6 months) i had some misfiring at idle issues.... NOW switched over to side fire F5DPOR plugs (bosch platin side fire) and my exhaust note actually changed, engine runs much smoother etc. very happy with them.

I really dont like the construction quality of these things. I know they are being used, but the ground strap weld is crap.

I've been very happy with my NGK BKR7E's. They cost $2/plug and that's hard to beat

Your Bosch plugs are one range cooler than stock as well...

daaaamn. definitely not my slice of pie^^^

So between this and the other threads I've read, I think we've got the following (in relative order of cost, longevity, and misfire resolution):

    1. NGK PFR6Q's

    2. NGK PFR7Q's

    3. NGK BKR6E's

    4. NGK BKR7E's

    5. Bosch F6DTC's

    6. Bosch Platin F5DPOR "Side Fires"

...and gapped at 0.028" (with the exception of the F5DPOR's that come pregapped). Obviously this is a very subjective topic, but does the ordering appear generally correct?

    Re: Plugs

I recently changed my plugs to the NGK BKR7E's and now I have random misfires. I am Stage 3 (AWE), and I gapped them to .028". I was thinking of trying to gap them to .032 to see if it clears, but if not, I am switching to the stock plugs.

    Re: Plugs

I went with the "side fires" so we'll see if the hype holds true... I'll report back soon.

    Re: Plugs

So finished my first tank of gas after plug change...
20mpg 90% city. Pretty crappy. I think I need to change the gap on it. right now is at .030 on a completely stock S4. Any recommendation on gapping?
