1995 audi a6 quattro engine swap?

Hi Guys, i am new to the forum. i have a 1995 a6 Quattro 5 spd. i have 145,000 miles on the car. i bought the car for 2600 bucks. had a few engine issues. was thinking of swaping out the motor for a 1.8t. was wondering if any one can tell me if it is possible or can recommend another engine as well.

2.2Turbo inline 5 is the best for that car :)

will the 2.2 bolt right in? or will the 1.8t be better for modifying? also what will the 2.2 cost compared to the 1.8t

it also came in audi 200 quattro, it should be bolt-on, because it also came in the same body (C4) that your car is. It has more potential then 1.8t, it should be fairly cheap, i just saw one sitting on the junk yard...and there was no interest in it, so you can score one if you search.

Definitelly 2.2 inline turbo I just saw one for sale in Craigslist Colorado/Denver area not sure if it's still there...
Let us know how this goes, it would be quite cool to see the story develope...

2.2T inline 5cyl came in the USA in 95-95.5 S6 models. factory ratings were 220 hp.
Although cheaper, larger & possibly an easier install .. parts availability, aftermarket support and prices are also things to consider for the long term.

Hey everyone, I got 2 Audi's that I got questions about:

1992 Audi 100S FWD with the 2.8L V6 12-valve (C4)
1996 Audi A6 Avant quattro with the 2.8L V6 12-valve (C4)

both are automatic and I hope I can swap manuals into them in the future but for now the 100S has the 4-speed transmission with the optional sport setting and the A6 has just the regular 4-speed tranny.

Now I also want to swap a different, more powerful engine into either one and I figured since they both had the same engines that the swaps should be the same for both. Is that correct?

Now in terms of swaps, I figured that the 1995 A6 has the same engine as mine do since it's only a year newer than my Avant. So does that mean I could also put the 2.2L inline 5 from either the UR or 200?
