Who's right: The dealer or me?

I had my car in for service about 3 months ago, and it was completed no problems and when I picked my car up I get told "Oh, we noticed your drivers wiper wasn't working well, so we replaced it". I'm thinking to myself, wow, that's good service considering it's not even raining, I wonder how they new to replace it?

About a month later, we start getting constant rain. It rains almost every day for several weeks. I notice that the wiper they replaced sucks. It sticks a bit when it's in the vertical position and overall does a pretty crappy job. Oh well.

After the rain finally stops and I get the car all washed up and let it dry off, I notice there is a bunch of scratches where the wiper goes vertical, because the wind deflector was rubbing. I'm getting ready to take off to Europe, so I don't get around to calling the dealer for a couple weeks to bring it in.

I bring it in when I get home, in the morning they make it sound like I'll come back after work to a brand new windshield. They say they'll call at 330 to arrange a shuttle. I call at 4 since I haven't heard from anyone and I'm told they are just waiting for the technician to have a look at it to "find a part they can blame the problem on". I'm a little choked they did nothing all day. They then proceed to tell me when I get back there that the wiper arm was bent and it could have happened at any time, and how can I prove it was them. They say they are going to try file a claim and they will phone me the next day as they haven't heard back from Audi Canada yet.

Fast forward to today, 8 days later, I still haven't heard back. I phone and get told I'll need to talk to the service manager (great obviously because they know I've been arguing this already and I will go above my service advisor when they say no).

So thoughts? Should I have to pay? Should it be covered?

Hahaha... phone just rang and it was my service advisor, not the service manager and she phoned to book me in for a new windshield. She was pretty cranky about it, but they are covering it.

That's good that they ponied up to fix what they damaged. My TT was in for service a couple of months back and the wash tech curbed one of my wheels. The dealership didn't play any games with me and paid for the wheel within a week. I was very impressed.
