Hey guys, new here.. Help needed!

Hey guys, my name is Sanel and I just recently purchased an '01.5 avant and I have a few error codes that I would like to have clarified.

When I just purchased the car I had a single code which is:

17866 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 2 (G236): Short to Ground
    P1458 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I am aware what it is and what it does, but Im not sure whether if its driver or passenger side. Obviously the question is: which side and if there was a way to diagnose the defected one?

Just 2 weeks ago I've installed the Giac-X chip and been driving for a week without any issues. Then I went on a road trip, Ive put about a thousand miles on the new software without any abuse and just before I got back home check engine light came up. I ran the Vag-com and got few more codes:

    16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
    P0300 - 35-00 - -
    16687 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
    P0303 - 35-00 - -
    16690 - Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
    P0306 - 35-00 - -
16826 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Small Leak
    P0442 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
    16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
    P0304 - 35-00 - -
    16689 - Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
    P0305 - 35-00 - -

Im assuming that I might have a bad MAF sensor but Im not quite sure if that could cause this problem.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance!

have you checked for any boost leaks? boost leaks can cause misfiring as will a million things, but since you just installed the chip it may just be that a hose tore or something. do a pressure test. everyone will say it and once you do it you will realize why. its the easiest way to look for leaks. if you cant in the meantime look at the throttle body boot. thats common to tearing especially once you chip it. the MAF could do it but you would be throwing a MAF code if it was. and since you're 01.5 you have hitachi sensor so you should be OK.

check your plugs and coil packs. That would be where I would start. Make sure the plugs are not gunked up. Also check the EGR valve. But first I would check to see if you have a bad gas cap. That may solve that leak code.

Your EGT sensor on the driver side is dead or dying. Bank 1 is passenger, bank 2 is driver. It WILL cause the misfires you are experiencing because the ecu things exhaust gast temps are too high and it will dump fuel causing you to run rich. Your gas mileage will be in the pooper too.

The EVAP code may be a boost leak, so you really need to pressure test the intake. Good luck.

Finally finished working on the car last weekend. Cleared codes and they never came back!
I replaced vacuum lines, driver side EGT, cleaned the maf, replaced boost hoses with some nice reinforced silicone hoses and replaced stock dv's with forged ones! The avant is beiong very consistent now!
Just one more question: after I replaced Dv's with forged ones, I cant hear the blow off any more.. is that normal?

Yours were probably leaking then. Stock ones should be quiet, even 710N's are quiet. Diveters recirculate air, so you won't get the PSHHH of air being vented like blow off valves. And you don't want blow off valves...
