    Diesel Conversion

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
There are plenty of diesel quattro Audis in europe, how much of a pain would it be to do a conversion. I would waste an S car on it but maybe a B5 would be cool for a daily beater. Something like a 1.9 from a Jetta or something?

Just food for thought on a tech discussion.

    Re: Diesel Conversion

the engine itself is different than those in the jetta. Your best bet would be to import the engine and tranny in from europe.

Thats what I was thinking... Did Canada get any diesels?

Also, there any cool larger diesel? I'm not talking V10 but something that could make a mean load of torque would be cool!

If you're using a B5, I believe there are Diesel passats in europe which would fit much better in a b5.

As for mean load of torque, you can get that out of a 4-banger (1.9TDI).

Here's my friends TDI MK4 Golf:

    292.1 wtq.
And that was when he had the stock turbo with just supporting mods (exhaust/chip/etc). Now he has an upgraded factory turbo (kinda like a k04 for the b5 s4) and he pulls almost as hard as when I was Stg 2+. AND he gets 45 mpg at least.

    Re: Diesel Conversion

Do your reasearches on a 2.5 tdi european engine.

I's direct fit to the platform.

    Look at the similarities:
