    check engine light came on...

    Got the code scanned and came back as P0171, System too lean, Bank 1.
    figure this is possibly due to a bad N71 valve and the turbo boosting past the preset limit.
    I don't have a boost gauge, but the car does not hesitate or "fall on its face" when accelerating.
    Was looking to see if you guys may have other ideas as to what may possibly be the cause.

    BTW, this is for an 02 1.8T 5spd

    I had the same code a few months ago. For me, it was a bad MAF sensor.

    Ahh did not think of the MAF, will add that to the list of items to check, thanks..

    Definitely MAF sensor. hopefully driving with that won't hurt my car too much. I'm waiting for the part to arrive.
