    Suspension Question from a noob

    Hey guys,

First time poster and an Ultimate Audi noob (an a vetern E46 M3 enthusiast). Anyways, my parents have a 2003 A4 3.0 Quattro with 68K on the clock. I drove it last week just for kicks and felt that the suspension was riding really soft since I last drove it (used to be my car till I got the M3). Anyways, I was looking at the classifieds and saw there are a bunch of listings from B6 to B7 A4 from 1.8T, 2.0T, 3.0, 3.2 AWD/FWD. Also S4 suspensions....

Also would like to know the same question for brakes as well.

My question is, which one of those combinations will not fit my car? I'm not looking for coilovers since its my parents daily driver now. Help is appreciated!

Wow, that's your parents daily? Anyway, if you feel it is soft, just get some performance Shocks to stiffen things up a bit.

If you want to stay OEM< stay away from S4 suspensions, they ar emade for a heavier car so spring rates will not be ideal and B6 or B7 A4 suspensions will work fine.

Thanks man.... what about the difference between avant and sedan? Also since mine is Quattro, that means I need to stay away from FWD?

Most suspensions work well on both drivetrains. Sedan and Avant also makes no difference

Get a new set of shocks from Bilstein or Koni; they will last longer than the OEMs and work well.

The springs are fine. You couldn't use Avant or S4 springs on your A4 sedan anyways; the rates are different.

    Nice looking car :)))
    Get some aftermarket shocks.
S4 susp wont fit your car.
Depending on shock/spring they may fit both 1.8t/3.0 quattro/fwd eve though they got different rates.

Re: Suspension Question from a noob

Thanks for the compliment.... I'm going to either aim at a cheap set of coils or B7 A4 sedan sports suspension from who ever that just dropped on coils.

It's really my car and I put the kit on couple of years ago, but I took it home for my parents for the summer since their cars are not as reliable. I'm actually thinking about parting the kit out and go back to stock. If anyone have stock front, side, and rear in silver that wants swap for the kit, I will hook you up!

I rock this in the summer...
