got a kenwood deck installed and had my rear speakers rewired to the back of my deck to bypass the amp in the back, powering the rear speakers. the only thing is that my rear speakers sound underpowered and distorted now. Why is this?

yeah the amp put out more power than your deck does. thats why they sound like that

Your rear speakers could be fazed out because of the Ohm's rating of the speaker. I believe the rears are 8 ohm a piece. You may wanna consider replacing them with 4 ohm speakers so your HU can handle the resistance.

ok that was something i figured...




so im thinking i should maybe just replace all 4 of my speakers with the same ohms as the deck i just got. What are some speakers that will sound better then the stock nokias that are in there?

And should i get new tweaters for the front to go along with the front "component?" speakers.


btw what size speakers are in there? 4" in front, 6.5" in rear deck??

BTW, i got a kenwood deck thats 50x4 watts. 22 watts rms each speaker.

Not sure why your having issues. I did the same thing as you and put Alpine deck years ago. It sounds way better than the stock deck.

the wiring harness i got with the deck wasnt letting the rear speakers hook up at all idk why. That why i had to have the rear speakers wired to the deck. I really didnt no why but thats what these guys said at this shop and they seem to know what there doing.

how many watts does the stock delta deck put out btw, anyone know?

Best option is to get a 4 channel amp and use that, depends how much you are into music but on my a4 i don't use the headunit's power at all.

you had to have the rear speakers rewired to the deck because the amplifier can't recieve the straight amplified signal and produce a signal. This is where amplifier integration would've come in handy. Who installed your deck?

I guess I need to clarify. Mine is hooked exactly the was yours is now. Stock amp disconnected and speakers are wired to deck. Mine sounds awesome...I've been running it this was for way for 7 years.

ok.... and do you think i know the answer to why mine is sounding bad?? no. thats why im taking it back to the guy and see what he says about it but i just wanted to see what people thought about it. BTW my car is in the shop right now. surprising.... no
