Bear with my lengthy story..
Took my gf to Vegas for a few days, just to get away and relax a little. Halfway up (from San Diego) we stopped to get something to eat. we get back to the car and get back on the freeway, once accelerating through the on ramp i get a check engine light. Outside temp was around 115 so i stopped to check it out. The engine was extremely hot but my temp gauge was at the normal halfway. So i decided to continue and bring it by the dealership in Vegas.
The next day took it over and told the service department my situation. He seemed like a cool guy so i just went ahead and told him it was stage 2 (he didn't care, in fact said lots of stage 2's come through). So the guys in the back ran vag com to see what codes were causing the CEL.
Description with codes as follows:
41211 SPORADIC FAULTS STORED P2293 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR 2 PERFORMANCE AND KNOCK SENSORS 1 AND 2 HIGH INPUTS SPORADIC. CHECKED HIGH INPUT FAULTS VIA MEASURED VALUE BLOCKS. PASSED BASIC SETTINGS OF KNOCK SENSORS. REMOVED AND INSPECTED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, LIFTER, AND CAM LOBE FOR WEAR. ALL WITHIN FACTORY SPECS. CLEARED FAULTS RESET READINESS CODES. TEST DROVE. RECHECKED FOR FAULTS STORED. NO FAULTS PRESENT. PERFORMING TO FACTORY SPECS AT THIS TIME.
So apparently one of the codes was an o2 sensor fault? I let him know i used some injector cleaner about 2 tanks ago and i've been running a test pipe for 800+ miles. I'm not sure what these codes are exactly but he said the car was fine. Being pretty anal about my car i'm going to bring it in another dealer/tuner that i know just to double check. Just thought i'd share my little Vegas fiasco.
