Costco Gas & water don't mix

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So today in the mail I got a letter from Costco because apparently they accidently mixed water in with their 93 Octane gas last week when I filled up. This actually explains the pinging I heard yesterday, and now I'm worried about the fuel system.

    Any recos?

Was thinking of doing some heet and then seafoam.

you better demand a total replacement of your engine and fuel system on the basis of suspected damage

then go with an even bigger turbo

Yeah I thought about that but probably coculd only get a new fuel pump or injectors out of the whole thing....

hmmmm... maybe just do add a gallon of water to cause it to seize.

And this is why you don't buy Costco gas or anything besides Shell for that matter.

yeah costco is pretty known for pushing shitty product...

just figure out if they actually did any real damage and then act accordingly...costco is a good company, no need to rip them off. They were even courteous enough to send you a note telling you that they made a mistake, im not sure that that is common practice, might be wrong though...

LOL - like ripping them off would be something anyone on this forum would do

Nah - just going to get fuel filter changed, and dry gas treatment and then hand them the bill. But if my fuel pump dies well thats on their dime

Water mixed with fuel isn't going to cause damage, if it did then no one would ever use a WI setup.

Now if he was pumping direcly from a water tank maybe, but then he wouldn't have moved very far from the pump. If they had mixed in diesel fuel into their 93 tank he would have plenty of damage to both the engine and fuel system.
